On “Physical Approaches to Understanding Microbial Life” (Summer School)

I have a Summer School recommendation for people interested in microbial biofilms: “Physical Approaches to Understanding Microbial Life” (28 Aug – 6 Sep, 2018, Gif-sur-Yvette, Paris, France).

The main topics to be covered are: 1) Mechanics, hydrodynamics & transport | 2) Mechanics, metabolism, and growth in single cells | 3) Microbial signaling and sensing (quorum sensing) | 4) Populations, evolution, adaptation | 5) Microbial biofilm communities.

I personally recommend this event to not only microbiologists and biophysicists but also biomedical and environmental researchers for better understanding phenomena like material-microorganism interactions and membrane biofouling.

Registration Deadline: June 15, 2018
